The House Party is a unique club night that sees the venue fitted out with all the elements of your favourite house parties. Beds to jump on, wardrobes to rummage through and the biggest stereo you ever saw in the living room. Put this together with Counter Culture the brainchild of the people behind Leefest, which won the best grass roots festival award at the 2009 Festival Awards

The Bays' gigs have garnered immense worldwide critical acclaim and admiration with both audiences and industry alike, solely due to their impressive live shows. The whole set is improvised, the band will play off the mood of the audience and play the styles of music that they feel best fit the atmosphere. House, hip-hop, trance, ambient, drum and bass, reggae, breakbeat & funk are all styles that are often mixed together in The Bays' live improvisations.

The main man behind The Bays is Andy Gangadeen, literally one of the best drummers on the planet and currently the backbone of Chase & Status's Live shows. On performing at The House Party, Andy Gangadeen said:

"It's the perfect combination for us with everything being hugely DIY. A band that doesn't release records playing a club night that's actually a house party - in a venue that'll disappear after new year. How could we resist?"

The house party only started on new year's eve this year but has quickly become Manchester's most talked about night. There will be a kitchen to talk rubbish in, wardrobes to plunder for goodies - from Boxfresh & Umbro - and ornaments to nick off the shelves. We'll be asking some of our friends to perform and bring down their record collections to keep everyone happy till 6am.

Other acts on the bill include the infamous Bez from the happy mondays, Dean Chalkley and Si Cheeba (Black Cat), Toby Kidd (Hatcham Social) and Bubbz and the Black Notez.

So far every House Party has been a sell out and we've had DJ sets from

The Horrors, The Whip, Autokratz, 808 State, Eddy Temple-Morris, Rich Reason, Bez, Dave Haslam, Allez Allez, Twisted Wheel and some of Manchester's finest nights like Juicy, Tramp!, Clique and Beat Boutique

"The House Party took me back to some riotous times around 1968, the fact it was legal was pretty much the only difference" Howard Marks

"We DJ'd with the House Party gang at Glastonbury and they told us what they got up to - we rounded up 808 State and some old heads and it was three days of mayhem at Kendal Calling" Bez, Happy Mondays

"The House party was one of the highlights of Kendal Calling 2010, for three days they took everything from china poodles to a Wii and each morning it was set ready to be rinsed again" Andy Smith - MD - Kendal Calling

"The perfect way to spend new year, just like your favourite house party even a kitchen to talk broken biscuits in" The Guardian Guide
